Legumes
|
We're not talking Lego's here...but Legumes...which are plants of the family "Fabaceae" (that's Latin, by the way), or more simply, a "pod" with a seam that opens to reveal peas, lentils, beans and more. Legumes are consumed by livestock, usually in the form of alfalfa or clover, and by humans in the form of various grains. Legumes can be eaten raw or cooked, and are great in salads, soups and stews.
